Chinese Hospital and UCSF Collaboration

CanopyCare HMO is pleased to highlight exciting developments for the expanding partnership with Chinese Hospital and University of California – San Francisco (UCSF).

Since 2020, both organizations have partnered on ophthalmology, palliative care, and neurology. Starting 2023, Chinese Hospital and UCSF Health have added programs and services for the community, including skilled nursing/subacute care, pulmonology, cardiology, oncology, and other specialties.

The agreement is driven by a shared vision to create comprehensive and sustainable health care that is responsive to the community's ethnic and cultural uniqueness, now and for the future. It also seeks to develop new programs that increase the availability of physician and administrative services to achieve measurable improvements in patient, family, and community health.

Dr. Jian Zhang, Chief Executive Officer of Chinese Hospital, underlined the importance of this collaboration with UCSF Health. "By combining the strengths of the two organizations, we can provide better care and more access for individuals residing and working in San Francisco.

Through our close collaboration with UCSF Health, we not only offer comprehensive and high-quality care that addresses today's equity challenges, but also deliver culturally appropriate and linguistically competent care tailored to the diverse communities of San Francisco."

Chinese Hospital holds a 4-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and is recognized by the Leapfrog Group as an A-Grade facility.

CanopyCare members may access Chinese Hospital's-UCSF Health collaborative services by choosing a physician who is contracted with Hill Physicians.
